Flight as a Bird
I once had a lucid dream as a bird. Just a common bird, something like a robin or sparrow. I chose to fly, and I felt the rush of it. It was incredible, so I decided to see how far could I fly upwards? Even though I have a fear of heights as a human, I flew up and up. The buildings on earth started to look smaller. Looking down, I got a little worried, but pushed up again trusting that I was a bird. I started to feel the fatigue of pushing against gravity, and my breathing pattern started to change, so I gave in to my human fear and started to glide down and let my muscles lax and the air flows around me to guide me back down.
From above, I started to see all the litter and junk thrown around town, and how weird towns looked from this perspective, they looked less important, less impressive, and less inviting for me. It looked as if nature was just a patient lurking predator waiting on its chance to reclaim its place. It made me happy, as if I was built to withstand time and nature, to adapt to it and move with it through the waves of time. I started following the flow of trash and seen a homeless man. Unlike me, he was not fit for the elements. I landed a bit away from him, and he didn’t react right away, I inched a bit closer and he finally started to notice me. I came close enough to look close and stay out of reach, but I wanted to see what he had or what he needed. Then, I started looking around town for things he could use, and if I could pull it. When I didn’t find much and I couldn’t pull it, I started to get sad. I tried to get someone’s attention for him, but everyone was grumpy. I ended up just coming back to him and I figured the least I could do was be with him.
I ended up waking up with tears in my eyes
Oh my goodness what a heart breaking dream! I find I can fly a lot in my dreams (as a human surprisingly), so you usually have dreams where you can fly?
