Mirrors

So this one has only happened when I was a kid.

I remember I was in this parking lot with my mom and she went into this JCPenney electronic store that we had in my hometown. This is back in late 80s/early 90s.

But as a kid, I would always sit in the car and wait for her to come back from the store.

So in this dream, that’s exactly what happened. I was in the car waiting and I decided to get out of the car and I was walking around it, and I stopped and looked in the mirror and I seen myself, I seen myself age right in front of my eyes. Now, I don’t remember any of the images of what I looked like. But I know the ending image was me as an old man all gray. Crazy right!

After having this dream, I tried so hard to be near a mirror so that it could happen again. Most of the time if I was near mirror, I was just going along with the dream. But this one time I was in my parents room and they had this big dresser and this huge mirror that sat on top of the dresser (very 80s). I was lucid dreaming, and I was controlling the narrative so I remembered “MIRROR! LOOKING IN IT!” So, I looked in the mirror, I could feel the excitement of wondering what I’m gonna see and there was nothing there! No reflection, no me, no nothing. I was like what?! What a bummer, and then the dream fizzled out.

Mind you I was probably like 10 or 11 when this happened. But it’s been 30 years now, and I still havent managed to find myself in front of another mirror in my dreams. It’s not that I don’t want to. It’s just the opportunity hasnot presented itself since.
