A Chaotic Canal

Sometimes I'm at the mouth and sometimes I'm in a creek section of this canal. At the mouth it's wide and expansive, and the water isn't too deep. Within the canal there's jagged rocks on either side and the water rushes quickly.

Whether it's the mouth or the narrow straight, I'm always trying to get from one side to the other.

Often when I'm in the straight I'm looking at myself in the 3rd person. And sometimes it's not even me. Recently I'm looking at an old man whose struggling to reach the water from the rocks with a red hat on. Maybe there's significance there...?

In the mouth I'm in the first person and the water is calm. Usually I'm either crossing it in a paddle board or swimming in the middle where it's deepest. Sometimes other animals visit me when I'm swimming. Every so often I'm in the 3rd person but I typically go from 1st to 3rd to 1st in the mouth all within the same dream (majority being in the 1st).
