Cheating on partner with the same persom
About once a week I have a dream about cheating on my partner, something I've never done in any relationship. The person I cheat with is always a friend I had back in high school 10+ years ago) who I liked but nothing ever happened with them. Usually in my dreams with them there is just a strong romantic interest that feels wrong, nothing intimate ever happens. However, I've just woken up from a nap where we were fully intimate. I don't talk to this person nor keep up with their life and I am puzzled about why it is them who keeps popping up in my dreams. It almost feels like a real relationship at this point, just in an alternate reality. And it certainly feels like something I'm hiding from my partner as it's been going on about a year at this point.
I've had similar dreams. I'm widowed now, and although I loved my husband it wasn't the best marriage and I often wished I had a better marriage. To me those dreams represented a desire for something better or missed opportunity.
